About the Artist
An Artist by Design
I am a fine artist passionate about color, texture, nature and all things Asian — Japanese in particular. I express that passion across painting, ceramics and photography.
My art offers me a creative, emotional release. It is a universal language for connecting with others — a way to share my vision and turn passion into something tangible.
I enjoyed art in high school and chose commercial art rather than fine art or photography for practical reasons. In college I studied printmaking, oil painting and 3D design, and I have been finding my way back to the studio ever since.
Artist Statement
Color, Texture & Nature
My subjects come from the natural world — lotus ponds, autumn trees, the quiet geometry of a Japanese garden — and from a lifelong love of Asian, and especially Japanese, aesthetics. I work across painting, ceramics and photography, letting each medium find the texture the subject asks for.
